Hi, I’m Susan. I’m director of content design at Teladoc Health. I write and lead content that helps people understand their health, get care and keep going when it’s hard.
My roots are in newsrooms like TODAY.com and CourtTV. So every word I write has to be true, clear and worth your time. Scroll for a few favorites, or jump to my contact info.

Content design and UX writing
Clear words help people take the next step with their health. These projects put that to work inside an app.

BD Diabetes Care app
Content and engagement lead · BD
I was the app’s first full-time content lead. I wrote a goal-setting feature with 25 goals, smart insights based on blood sugar data, push alerts and how-to guides for people living with diabetes. A certified diabetes care and education specialist reviewed the work.
Health storytelling
Stories help people feel less alone. They also make it easier to ask for help.

Mental health video series
Editorial lead · Teladoc Health
A three-part series on anxiety, therapy and emotional well-being. I led the scripts, creative direction and production. It won a Gold Aster Award in 2022.

A mom’s COVID-19 survival story
Writer and editor · Teladoc Health
A Dallas mom spent 133 days fighting COVID-19. I told the story of her illness and her recovery, and how virtual care helped her family through it.
Editorial leadership
Before healthcare, I spent years editing and producing for national news and lifestyle brands.

Amanda Knox on shame and belief
Editor and segment producer · TODAY.com
I worked with Amanda Knox to shape her personal essay on trauma and identity. Then I booked and produced a web video with her and her sister.
Want more? My full list of selected work covers TODAY.com, InStyle.com, CourtTV and more. Ask me about the Miss Cleo investigation sometime.
How I work
- Start with the person. Who’s reading? How do they feel? What do they need next?
- Keep it plain. Short words, short sentences and no medical jargon.
- Test and tune. Real people read it, and we fix what trips them up.
- Build for the whole team. Voice guides and templates help every writer sound like one brand.
